Body found rolled inside carpet

JEFFERSON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) — Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a killer, after a man’s body was found dumped along a remote Jefferson Township road Sunday night.

A woman called 911 after spotting rolled-up carpet on the side of Forney Road. She told dispatchers there were feet hanging out the end.

The victim has been identified as 43 year-old Bill Pike.

His fiancee, Betty Barrett, told 2 NEWS she had not seen or talked to him since Thursday night.

“I never thought in a million years that anything like this would happen. I mean he was a good guy,” said Barrett. “It hurts my heart that somebody is that low. I mean why would you just throw somebody’s body out in the middle of nowhere? It’s sad. It’s really sad.”

An autopsy was performed on Monday. Results were not immediately available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 222-7867.
