FRANKLIN, Ohio (WDTN) – The Kettering Health Network is expanding in Warren County.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for a new free-standing emergency department.

The ER will be located off Interstate 75 at State Route 73 in Franklin.

It will cost about $9-million and employ between 40 and 60 people.

“It will open mid-February is our current target. So, those employees will begin training. So, over the next few months you’ll see this sight become a flurry of activity,” said Wally Sackett, VP at Sycamore Medical Center.

Kettering Health Network is also building a free standing emergency department in Eaton.

Construction there is expected to start in late summer. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
