DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman is recovering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Police said the woman was shot in the 100 block of Robeson Place around 1 a.m.

They said the 30-year-old heard shots fired and tried to run inside her home for cover. Authorities said she didn’t make it in time and was hit by a bullet.

Lt. Dave Matthews said gunfire is becoming too common in the area.

“Unfortunate this is where she lives, and this happens here. Officers have been here in this area on numerous shots complaints in the past. It’s not uncommon here unfortunately,” said Matthews.

The woman was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and  is expected to be OK.

No arrests have been made.
