WEST CHESTER, Ohio (WDTN )- Police speed played a role in a crash that killed 62 year old Troy Stapelton.  Police say during Thursday morning rush hour, 32 year old Terrance Strader of West Chester ran into the back of a car on Ohio 747 with his pick up truck.

According to a police report, Strader didn’t stop and passed a car continuing south on Ohio 747, ran a red light at Port Union Road and Ohio 747, hitting a car driven by Stapelton, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Stapelton was a driver for Universal Transport Systems. Strader was hurt and taken to a local hospital.

West Chester Police believe Strader was on the run from police and that’s why he sped away after the first accident.
