Owner admits to hitting dog after it bit animal

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –Police are investigating an animal bite complaint.

According to the complainant, he was walking his Yorkie-Poodle mix, Scruffee, on Jersey Street around 3:30 p.m. Friday when a large black Labrador ran outside of a home and bit the dog.

He said the owner of the Labrador came out and then punched the Labrador several times in the head.

The complainant then called police.

Officers took note of Scruffee’s injuries. They said she had a deep wound about three inches long on her left side from the bite.

When police interviewed the Labrador’s owner, he admitted to hitting his dog a few times. He was issued an animal quarantine slip.

Police advised the owner of the Labrador he would also receive a summons arrest for the animal bite.
