The fire sparked in the 2700 block of Old Yellow Springs Road around 6 a.m. Sunday.

When firefighters arrived, flames and smoke were billowing from the two-story home. After taking a defensive approach, they were able to put the fire out.

Two people inside suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital. They’re expected to be okay.

A family pet was taken to the Greene County Animal Shelter.

No word on damage estimates.

Officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
