DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton man was arrested after he’s accused of assaulting a neighbor’s friend.

Ronald Ritchie, 33, was arrested on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest.

Police were dispatched to Vine Street before 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses said two men assaulted a man while he was standing in front of his friend’s house. They said one of the suspects left the scene, but the other one went back in a house nearby.

When officers went to the house, they found Ritchie inside. They reported Ritchie was being disrespectful to them, refused to identify himself, and grabbed an officer’s radio microphone knocking it to the ground.

According to police, when they tried handcuffing Ritchie he continued screaming and resisting.

Police stated Ritchie’s wife even came out saying, “stop acting like a fool and listen to them.”

As police escorted him to a cruiser, he continued to act disorderly. Police said once he was taken to jail he continued to be uncooperative with correction officers.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for his injuries.
