MOUNT BLANCHARD, Ohio (AP) – A kindergarten teacher has been charged with child endangerment after a surveillance camera appeared to show her pushing one of her students up against a wall and grabbing his face and shirt.

Prosecutors on Monday filed a misdemeanor charge against Barbara Williams. The teacher at Riverdale Local Schools had already been suspended for 10 days after the video was made public last month.

School superintendent Eric Hoffman has said he apologized to the parents and called the incident unfortunate.

The boy’s parents want the teacher fired.

Williams declined to comment Monday. A message left with her attorney was not immediately returned.
