DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Five months have passed and a Dayton mother is still desperate for answers about why her 22-year-old son was gunned down.
Karla Powell’s front door on Brightwood Avenue now serves as a memorial to her late son.
It was there on the front steps where a neighbor found Karll Williams with a bullet wound to his head just after 6:00 p.m. January 27. His mother says he is not just another statistic.
“I just want people to know Karll’s not Dayton’s number five. Karll was my son and my grandson’s father,” said Karla Powell, victim’s mother.
Karll later died from his wounds at a nearby hospital and the investigation has been underway ever since. Five months have taken a toll on a family that needs some answers.
“My family desperately needs this solved. He was a good kid and somebody knows something and I’m just begging people to come forth if they know anything.”
