DAYTON, OHIO (WDTN) Three members of the Dayton Dragons were named today to play in the 2014 Midwest League All-Star Game on June 17 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Michigan. Players were selected after nomination and voting by the 16 Midwest League managers.
Dragons shortstop Carlton Daal, right-handed started pitcher Nick Travieso, and left-handed starting pitcher Ismael Guillon have been selected to play for the Eastern Division team in the All-Star Game. The 2014 All-Star Classic will be the 50th in the history of the Midwest League.
Daal has appeared in 52 of the Dragons 56 games this season, batting .316 with no home runs, 19 runs batted in, and eight stolen bases. He currently ranks seventh in the league in batting average.
Travieso has made 11 starts, going 6-2 with a 3.17 earned run average. He is tied for the league lead in victories.
Guillon has made nine starts and one relief appearance, going 3-0 with a 2.87 ERA. He leads in the league in lowest opponent’s batting average at .170.
