Shooting victim found in Dayton alley dies

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A shooting victim found in a Dayton alley Tuesday night has died.

James Chancellor, 30, was found behind a vacant house in the 100 block of Gordon Avenue around 11:30 after getting a call from his girlfriend, Lt. Mark Ponichtera told 2 NEWS.

When officers found Chancellor, he did not know where he was due to his condition, Ponichtera said.

Chancellor was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:31 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators are talking to possible witnesses.
