2 stabbed in Dayton, suspect crashes in Trotwood

DAYTON/TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – Police in two jurisdictions are investigating a double stabbing and a car crash.

Dayton police were called to the 1200 block of Superior Avenue just after 4 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, they found Sherrell Wheatley, 58,who had been stabbed in the face, neck and hands during an argument with her husband, Stanley Wheatley, 48.

Sherrell Wheatley’s son, Antwan Warren, 37, was also stabbed. Officers said he is paralyzed and was attacked while he was in bed.

Police tell us Stanley Wheatley had just been released from jail on Monday.

Wheatley took off from the scene in a green van. He crashed a short time later in the 5200 block of Salem Avenue in Trotwood. The van caught fire.

Rescuers got Wheatley out of the van and took him to the hospital.
