GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – The Darke County father convicted of involuntary manslaughter and child endangering in the death of his child was sentenced Thursday.

Scott Webber, 29, was ordered to serve three years for the asphyxiation death of 16-month-old Ina Jane.

The girl was discovered dead in her bed in February 2013.

Webber’s wife, Lauren Jones, admitted to giving the baby an over-the-counter sleep aid for adults. Investigators also found piles of blankets, pillows, blue jeans, and plush animals stuffed in her crib, which prosecutors said obstructed her breathing.

Lauren Jones was sentenced earlier to 90 days in jail.
