Dayton man wins $1 million on instant game

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man is a million dollar winner, the The Ohio Lottery announced Friday.

Rhodie Joppy won the top prize of $1 million on the Big Money instant game.

Joppy had the option of receiving $50,000 yearly for 20 years, or the lump sum cash option.  He chose the cash option and will receive $355,000 after mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent.

He purchased the winning ticket from the Kroger located at 1934 Needmore Road.
