DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County Children Services issued a strike notice Friday.

Eric Kanthak, President of the Professional Guild of Ohio Council 12, says members filed notice with the State Employment Relations Board.

Kanthak says the guild had no choice to issue notice since contract talks are not producing a new deal.

The strike date is now set for June 16.

2 NEWS was there when social workers, drivers, nurses and clerical workers picked outside the Montgomery County Administration Building on Tuesday.

They were picketing for fair wages and negotiations.

Kanthak says contract talks will continue up to the June 16 strike date.
