2nd death confirmed from German Township fire

GERMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – A second person has died as a result of a June 1 house fire in German Township.

Travis Robbins Jr., 25, described as a family friend, died June 7 at Miami Valley Hospital from complications of smoke inhalation, the Montgomery County coroner ruled.

Jaclyn Wise, 28, was found dead in a bedroom when firefighters arrived at the Johnson Road house.

Two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy were rescued from the house and treated at Children’s Medical Center.

German Township Fire Chief Tim Holman said the home was equipped with smoke detectors, but they were not operational.
