Central Ohio man among troops killed in Afghan airstrike

WAVERLY, Ohio (WDTN) – A Central Ohio man is among five troops killed during a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan.

According to the man’s high school baseball coach, Justin Helton was killed in an air strike.

The Department of Defense has yet to make an official announcement.

According to the Pentagon, Helton and four other soldiers were killed when they were sent in to assist ambushed troops in the southern part of the country.
