DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton police are on a duck hunt.

Danny the duck disappeared sometime Monday night and now his owner is wondering what happened.

“It sounds crazy, it sounds strange, you know, call me the duck lady, whatever. But just, you know, bring Danny home,” said Mira Tipton.

Tipton says Danny disappeared from her home in the Linden Heights neighborhood.

He is a Muscovy duck, white with a red face and head.

Tipton says Danny is no ordinary duck. He serves as a therapy animal, helping her cope with medical issues.

“He’s been very loyal. He’s different than a duck. He knows his name. Like I said, he knocks on the window and he comes to let me know he’s okay.”

Mira also says Danny has no vocal chords, so instead of quacking he may gurgle.
