Clark County crime stats drop

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – A new model for fighting crime in Clark County appears to be working.

Law enforcers released new crime statistics Wednesday that incidate a 12 percent decrease in criminal reports.

The stats run from January 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013.

The most calls were made in Springfield Township.

Springfield police also report more citations issued and arrests made.

Sheriff Gene Kelly attributes the down tick to a proactive policy within the department.
