Dayton house destroyed by fire


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Fire destroyed a vacant house early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the fire started in the 100 block of McGee Street just before 4 a.m. Investigators are calling it suspicious.

The district chief on scene told 2 NEWS the fire started in the back of the two-story home and made its way up to the attic.

Crews evacuated residents from some homes nearby in case the fire spread. Once the flames were out, residents were allowed back inside.

The fire is under investigation.
