iPhone app saves Kettering woman’s phone from theft

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A popular iPhone application is credited with saving a Kettering woman’s phone from theft.

The phone that had been lost on June 8th. Two days after losing the phone, a Kettering woman called the iPhone and was able to talk to a female who said she bought the phone for $50.

The female in possession of the phone then demanded $50 in return for the iPhone.

Instead, the woman that had her phone stolen used “FindMyiPhone” to locate her phone.

Ron Roberts, Police Information Officer for the Kettering Police Department, said the woman is being charged with receiving stolen property.

How to download the “FindMyiPhone App” on Computer:

  • Log onto the Apple website.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
  • Select “Setup on IOS, Mac, or PC”
  • Select Download Now
  • Turn on iCloud

Downloading on your phone:

  • Log onto the iTunes Store
  • Search for “FindMyiPhone”
  • Download.
