SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Springfield man accused of killing his girlfriend’s baby faced a judge Friday morning.

Appearing for his arraignment in a Clark County courtroom, Dornell Cumberland entered a plea of not guilty on all counts.

Springfield police say Cumberland was baby-sitting the 11-month-old at this home on East John Street in March and called medics and said he found a penny in the boy’s throat.

An autopsy revealed the child had been beaten.

Cumberland is charged with murder and involuntary manslaughter.

His bond is set at $250,000.
