DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police responded to Dayton Children’s Hospital on a fireworks complaint while medics were airlifting a patient to the hospital.

Police were called to the hospital around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two CareFlight nurses told police while they were transporting a patient to Dayton Children’s, they, along with the helicopter’s pilot heard a “boom”, saw a flash, and felt the aircraft shake.

They believed it was possibly fireworks.

No one was injured and the projectile did not hit the aircraft.

After officers cleared the call, another fireworks complaint was reported. An anonymous caller reported hearing a boom and saw flashes in the air from the 500 block of Baltimore Street. Neighbors in the area also reported hearing the noise.

Police are still investigating.
