DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed behind Setter’s Bar Saturday night.
Police were dispatched to the bar located at 1008 Gateway Drive around 10 p.m. Saturday.
When police arrived, they found the victim in an adjacent parking lot with a stab wound to his chest.
The victim told police that he and his brother were in the woods behind Setter’s burning brush. He said they were approached by a white female with blonde hair who was angry about the fire. He said they exchanged words and then the woman stabbed him.
The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with what medics called life-threatening injuries.
Police said they located the crime scene behind the bar. They reported they found a small fire burning in the clearing with Budweiser bottles scattered around the area. Officers also found a paper towel with blood on it and a flashlight on the ground. Police followed a trail to a makeshift cabin in the woods but found that it was empty. Officers took pictures and collected items from the scene.
After officers left, they received a call from a man who said he and his girlfriend were in the area at the time of the stabbing and he didn’t want to get in trouble because he was already on parole. He told police that his girlfriend argued with the two men about the fire. He said he believed she may have stabbed one of them after they called her names. He told police that he and his girlfriend left the scene and his girlfriend left to go to a friend’s house.
A broadcast was made for the female suspect.
Officers are continuing their investigation.
