DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a group of women invade an apartment and fire shots.

Officers were called to the 2900 block of Nancy Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on reports of gunfire.

When police arrived, they found the front door had been forced open, a window had been shattered, and a coffee table was broken and turned on its side.

Police spoke with a resident who told them she had three guests over to her apartment when a group of seven women came pounding at her door and then broke into her apartment.

She said as the suspects were running out her door she heard someone fire two gunshots.

The resident’s three guests also reported hearing the commotion and the shots fired. They told police they believed the incident stemmed from an earlier situation where the resident got into a fight at another apartment with several women.

Police are still investigating. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
