DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) A man cutting grass was injured in an accident with a car Wednesday morning.

Police investigating said it happened when the man on a standing riding mower circled around a rock and swung onto Nicholas Road.

A passing Chevy Cavalier clipped one of the mower’s tires, pushing the mower about 20 feet and tossing the man off the machine.

The Cavalier then veered across the roadway and smashed into a landscaper’s trailer.

The mower man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with a head injury.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Police said the man on the mower will be cited for the accident. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
