MIAMI TOWNSHIP , Ohio (WDTN) – A line of thunderstorms moving across the region triggered flash flooding in southern Montgomery County Friday afternoon.

Perhaps hardest hit was the Dayton Mall and the surrounding area in Miami township.

Sections of the mall’s parking lot flooded, leaving cars sitting in water up to the windows, some with people trapped inside.

The low lying stretch of State Route 725 where it runs underneath Interstate 75 also flooded. One motorist told 2 NEWS the flooding there was “almost the size of a small pond.”

Despite all that happened, no injuries, other than to the dozens of swamped vehicles, were reported.
