United Way celebrates day of giving

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The United Way of Great Dayton is celebrating a special milestone with a “Day of Giving”.

More than 300 volunteers were sent out to several areas of Montgomery, Greene and Preble County. The event is geared toward helping communities by picking up trash, painting over graffiti and cutting high grass.

Richard Shaw, a PNC employee, believes the event will help the community.

“We just really need the community to come together, to pull together, to look good,” Shaw added, “We’re bringing a presence to the neighborhood.”
