11-year-old reports aggravated burglary

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating a reported aggravated burglary.

Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Dennison Avenue Saturday morning.

According to the victim, he had fallen asleep in the back bedroom and his children had fallen asleep while watching television in the living room. He said the screen door was closed but unlocked and the storm door was left open.

The victim said his 11-year-old son was woken up when a suspect carrying a blue and silver pocket knife walked into the home and asked him for money. When the boy told him he didn’t have anything, the suspect walked into the kitchen looking for money and then grabbed a cell phone on the coffee table and ran out the door.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Police are still investigating at this time.
