2 arrested for fight in Oregon District

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two men are booked into jail following an attack in the Oregon District.

Nick Wallace, 37, was arrested on charges of felonious assault. Mark Gore, 35, was arrested on charges of assault and obstructing official business.

Police were already in the Oregon District monitoring activity when they were called to a fight near the corner of East Fifth Street and Wayne Avenue after 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officers said Wallace attacked a man, knocking him unconscious. According to a witness statement, Wallace then told Gore to hit another man. Police reported Gore struck the other man in the face. Officers said Gore ran from them but they eventually caught up with him.

The victim who was reportedly hit by Gore told officers he didn’t know what precipitated the attack. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim who was reportedly hit by Wallace was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with a possible skull fracture.

Wallace was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Gore was taken to Grandview Hospital to be treated for his injuries before being booked into jail.
