DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Construction along Main Street in Dayton from Stewart Street northward will likely slow your commute.
Construction on the road between Patterson Boulevard and Stewart Street is expected to begin Monday. The city of Dayton is looking to expand the four-lane road to five lanes.
Crews will begin construction close to Stewart Street as the city replaces water lines. The end goal of the project is create new sidewalks, lighting, and a retaining wall.
City officials along with representatives at Miami Valley Hospital do not expect construction to negatively impact emergency vehicles during construction.
The expected end date is slated for October 2015.
Patterson Boulevard and Brown Street are suggested alternate routes as the $7.1 million dollar project progresses.
