SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio Department of Transportation is moving ahead with a plan to construct a roundabout at State Route 41 and State Route 235.

Construction was set to start Monday and continue through August 29. The official detour is US 68 south to US 40 west to SR 571 west to SR 201 north to SR 41.

ODOT believes the roundabout will curb the number of crashes at the intersection.

About 7,500 vehicles travel through that intersection each day. The project is projected to cost $1.5 million.
