WPAFB, Ohio (WDTN) – A gay pride event at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has been rescheduled.

Bad weather last Friday forced organizers to cancel the 5K Pride Run.

The run will now happen Wednesday, June 25. Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. The race begins at 3:00 p.m.

The event sparked controversy earlier this week. Critics say the base should not support such an event, but base spokespeople say diversity strengthens our military. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
