TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – Troy firefighters battled an $80,000 fire overnight.
Crews were called to 1520 Wayne Street around 1:20 a.m. for a fire in one of four attached units.
Investigators credit a fire rated drywall for keeping the flames mostly confined to the garage. A car inside it was destroyed and a nearby unit was slightly damaged.
No one was hurt.
Firefighters say homeowners often put flammable materials near utilities kept in the garage. They are investigating whether that started the fire, but nothing official just yet.
A monetary breakdown of the damage is $50,000 to the structure and $30,000 to the contents, including a 2007 car.
