DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The fate of the RTA bus driver who police say made up a story about getting shot by three men is at hand.

Rick Wagoner is meeting with union representatives at the Greater Regional Transit Authority right now after speaking exclusively with our Marsha Bonhart.

Wagoner claimed that three African-American men shot him as he worked to repair his broken down bus February 24.

Police said there were too many inconsistencies between his story and the evidence.

Wagoner continues to insist that his account is true.  “I don’t know if you have ever been in a life or death situation.  I don’t want to ever go through that again,” Wagoner said.

The RTA must decide what action, if any, it will take against Wagoner, who has not been charged criminally.
