MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – Moraine city officials dished out cash to bring jobs to the region.

Chinese auto glass manufacturer, Fuyao, is moving into a large portion of the old GM plant.

The company promises to bring 800 jobs.

The Moraine City Council rubber stamped the deal that brought the company here.

Moraine will hand over $200,000 per year for the next five years if Fuyao lives up to its promises.

“We look at this as an opportunity to be able to spur further development, but this really is what I would consider the anchor to that re-development and an outstanding development and we’re talking about an investment that is the 8th largest direct foreign investment in the entire country and it’s happening right here in the City of Moraine,” said Michael Davis, Economic Development Director.

The deal isn’t just at the local level.
