DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Three people were arrested for drunk driving after two OVI checkpoints and saturation patrols were held in Dayton Friday night.
According to Dayton Police, 310 vehicles passed through the checkpoint on South Keowee Street and Fifth Street. Of those vehicles, 12 were diverted, four were driving without a license, four were driving under suspension, and two were issued other citations. Two drivers were tested for OVI, but they weren’t arrested. No OVI arrests were made at this checkpoint.
Nearby, police also held another checkpoint at Wayne Avenue and Wyoming Street. Police reported 146 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Of those drivers, eight were diverted, one was arrested for disorderly conduct, one was issued a citation for an expired license, and two were issued open container violations. Two people were tested for OVI but not arrested. Two others were arrested for drunk driving.
A saturation patrol in the area also netted one OVI arrest.
