Fort Loramie boy’s wish is more than meets the eye

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – A ten year-old from Fort Loramie is getting his Hollywood dream come true.

Christopher Mader, diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, is a big Transformers fan.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the community decided to help bring the larger-than-life robots to Miami County.

Mader got a chance to ride in one of the vehicles used in the first Transformers movie.

It was more than glitz and glamour, though, for Mader’s family who are happy their son is living his dream.

“We’re not only excited about today but tomorrow he goes to muscular dystrophy camp,” said Brian Mader, Christopher’s father. “For him to be able to do that and spend time with peers that have the same difficulties as him is great.”

Christopher’s father said the family was overjoyed about how perfectly this weekend came together.

Mader got a police and “Autobot” escort and received the red carpet treatment as he went to see the new movie in theaters.
