DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Penn National Gaming said Monday that if all goes well, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway will open Thursday, August 28.

The opening is pending final regulatory approval.

“We’re thrilled to be able to set our opening date for this new, state-of-the-art regional destination offering premier gaming, dining, racing and entertainment options,” said Tim Wilmott, President and Chief Executive Officer of Penn National Gaming. “Located in North Dayton and convenient to both I-75 and I-70, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway will provide our guests with a range of memorable experiences in an exciting, high energy setting.”

We got a first look at the $250 million racino last week. It will be open seven days a week, 24 hours a day after the opening.

A second opening will be held October 3 when harness racing begins on a 5/8 mile all weather track.

The racino is located at the intersection of Needmore and Wagner Ford roads. It will house 1,000 video lottery terminals, plus dining and entertainment.
