DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) The Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services (MCDJFS) presented Agape for Youth with its Community Partner Award at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, July 1.
The eight-member Awards and Recognition Committee from MCDJFS selected Agape based on the nomination of Lesley Keown, a Children Services manager, and Lori Byrd, a JFS supervisor.
“This is one of our committee’s favorite activities because we get to recognize an organization that shares our mission to strengthen and stabilize families in Montgomery County,” said Kevin Lavoie, Committee Chair. “With 700 or more children in foster care at any given time, it is tremendous to have a partner like Agape. They help us expedite permanency and, whenever possible, reunification for our children.”
Agape for Youth works to complement the efforts of the Children Services Division of MCDJFS.
They offer foster care placements, an adoption program, mental health, case management, education and reunification services.
