PHILLIPSBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – A main artery through the Village of Phillipsburg is about to be cut off.

Village administrators say State Route 49 through the village is scheduled to close for 60 days beginning July 7. Detours will be posted.

Crews will be installing new sanitary sewers.

“Roadways must be closed to provide a safer work environment and allow for faster construction progress,” said Patrick Turnbull, director of Montgomery County Environmental Services. “We will work with the contractor to get the work done as quickly as possible to minimize the impact on businesses and residents.”

The $4.7 million project began last month and is scheduled for completion in May 2015.

Residents can call 937-825-6722 with any questions or concerns.
