Teen found guilty in 75 year old’s murder

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 17-year old suspect has been found guilty of murder following a shooting death of a 75-year-old woman near an RTA bus stop in Dayton in 2013.

Prosecutors said Robert L. Jones Jr. approached the victim, 75-year-old Take Gangloff, with the intent to rob her. During the course of the robbery, Gangloff was shot. Her body was discovered by an RTA bus driver, who called Dayton police on September 13, 2013.

“This defendant is clearly violent, dangerous, and has no regard for the lives or property of others. We will be asking the court to sentence him to the
maximum possible term of incarceration,” said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. in a news release.

Jones was found guilty of one count of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of intimidation of a crime victim, one count of attempted breaking and entering.
