Wrong way driver sent to prison for fatal crash

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A wrong way driver who caused a fatal crash is heading to prison.

Rachel Schidecker was sentenced in Montgomery County court Tuesday morning.

She will spend three years in prison, plus another 30 days in jail.

She was also ordered to probation upon release.

Schidecker was found guilty of driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 near downtown Dayton in August of 2012.

A Kansas City woman was killed.

Schidecker was 18 years old at the time. She was drunk at the time. Her blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

Her driver license was also revoked for life.
