Shooting victim knocks on door for help

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man who was shot late Wednesday night ran to a nearby home for help.

Dayton police say the man was shot around 10 p.m. somewhere in the area of Rockland Drive. The victim started banging on a woman’s door. She called 9-1-1.

When police arrived, they found the man on the porch with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and police said his condition was stable.

Police are still trying to identify a suspect in the case.
