Holiday marks one year since family saw missing woman

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN)– Amanda Romine was reported missing last summer, and family members hold onto memories of July 4, 2013, the last time they saw her alive.

Sister, Aliya Lindsey, said Romine’s disappearance was especially hard after their mother died unexpectedly last August.

“We go straight from burying our mother, out searching for our sister.”

Romine’s family held a vigil in February to celebrate her 31st birthday.

Lindsey said investigators have been in contact with the family, but haven’t clued them in to any significant leads in the case.

“I feel it’s something very bad, and we don’t know what’s happened to her. Because I just can’t see her being gone for a year, and no contact., nothing to with anyone. I can’t see it out of her.”

A vigil will be held Sunday, July 6 in downtown Springfield. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
