DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are looking into who’s responsible for setting a car on fire.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Miami Chapel Road around 3 a.m. Friday.

When police arrived on scene, the Dayton Fire Department was extinguishing a red Ford Explorer that caught fire.

The owner of the vehicle said he was visiting a friend and his vehicle had only been parked there for about an hour.

The vehicle was towed and turned over to arson investigators.

The heat from the car fire also melted the siding to a home on Miami Chapel Road.

Police don’t have any suspect information at the time.
