HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) — Troopers are investigating after a wrong way driver plowed into oncoming traffic on State Route 4 early Sunday morning.

Officials initially received calls of a wrong way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of State Route 4. Troopers said the driver came to a halt after hitting an ODOT sign and slamming into oncoming vehicles just south of Chambersburg Road.

Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Several others were taken to the hospital just as a precaution to be checked.

Medics from Vandalia, Fairborn, and Huber Heights all responded to the scene.

State Route 4 was closed for a short time while officials investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was later arrested for OVI.
