Car strikes bicycle rider, flees scene

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Springfield police are investigating a hit and run crash involving a bicycle.

Police say the cyclist was hit at Plum and North streets around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

They say the victim suffered serious head injuries.

The driver of the car fled the scene, but police caught up to him a short time later to make an arrest.

The bike rider was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.
