Woman faces judge over animal cruelty charges

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Samantha Hughes faced off with the Animal Resource Center in court Tuesday over accusations she kept an unsanitary house for the dogs that lived there.

ARC officials outlined the evidence they had before entering Hughes’ Laura Avenue home in June.

“Let me rephrase. It shows what it looked like but not the smell. What was that like. Moldy feces. The entire house smelled of waste. Downstairs and upstairs,” said ARC Director Mark Kumpf.

Hughes faces multiple charges, including intentional cruelty and cruelty and neglect.
