DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A grand jury has indicted a 17-year-old boy on adult robbery charges in the alleged attacks of homeless men in the so-called “knockout game.”
Prosecutors said the former Stivers High School student was the leader in two separate incidents in which two teens attacked homeless men in Dayton.
Police were alerted when a teacher at the school saw a video of the attack on a student’s cell phone, recorded it on her phone and reported it to administrators.
Police say they were inspired by the “knockout game,” when assailants attempt to knock out random victims with a single punch and often put video of the assault online.
The alleged attacks occurred on March 7 and April 8. The teen is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
